29. ‘Knowing’ as life and a ‘me’.

Imagine that your toe is paining. Now when a toe pains, it is only the toe that knows the pain, In fact -it is life 'at' the toe that knows the pain, not the leg, not chest, not the head, not the body and not the ‘me’ or an ‘I”. There is no owner to the pain, other than a simple knowing called life that is available at the toe. The pain is felt by life. It is not felt by ‘toe’ or any other part of the body. We use words, like , I feel the pain. These are just words. At max. the toe feels the pain. Whose toe?, body’s toe -says a thought, whose body- Mine- says the thought. These are just thoughts. That doesn’t shift the pain from the toe- to the body- and to the ‘I’. It seems here that ‘I’ wants to own a body, and body wants town a toe. There isn’t a need to own. You cant go on owning whatever is seen. You can’t own the Sun, Moon and bodies. Not even one body.
There is just life and body here. There is a knowing. A knowing of pain -at the point of pain, knowing of an object -at the point of an object and knowing of a sound -at the source of sound. All knowing at its source. That’s all there is. All there is –is knowing. All there is –is life. Playing bodies, knowing sounds etc.etc. There is no owner to life. There is no owner to knowing other than knowing itself. Life is the ‘knowing’. It is not your knowing. It is just ‘knowing’.
The knowing of pain is just a simple knowing. I and you are just words for communication. Simple words to avoid confusion. But these words are themselves the cause of confusion when the speaker believes them to be true. Then arise an owner for the pain. Therefore, It is not a toe that is paining, but an ‘I’ that has started to ‘suffer’. There is no suffering other than the pain in the toe. But this is made to seem that. The pain in the toe is causing a ‘me’ to suffer. ‘Me’ and ‘suffer’ are thus words without actual and factual meaning. But they are given pseudo meanings. Then these meaning are taken to be real and felt real – All as a play by life in life. Ignorantly.
There isn’t a owner to life. No body can know how this word ‘me’ has taken up such massive meaning as to own life within the body. There is just life. Appearing as bodies and object and life source or life energy moving them. It doesn’t require an owner. It works well even without a ‘sense ‘of individual ownership. If all parts of life, become independent owners, then petals will own petals and flower will own flower and toe will own toe. Up to this. It seems ok. But flower owning a petal and a body owning a toe still can make some sense. Wholeness or life can own bodies. ‘I’ cannot. Therefore there isn’t any thing called an ‘I’. The ‘I’ is only a personal sense of ownership. There is nothing new to be owned at the level of the body and life. In any case, a limited ‘I’ cannot own it. It is just a word floating around, and taking ownership of whatever it latches on to. It is like a tenant owning the house.
The I -is a word just used for communication between two human looking bodies. That communication is done by life and is known in life. However, there is a limited feeling with the uses of this word. It is as if this word has become alive somehow and taken procession or ownership of life within the body. It is life that gave birth to the word ‘I’ and the meaning there seems have given birth to life itself and limited it the life inside 'a' body. Now life gets captured by its own creation of the word 'I' that was meant for simple communication.
So the word ‘I’ has no standing as an owner. It doesn’t mean anything. ‘I’ cannot have pain in the toe. There is only – pain in this toe. So ‘I’ was never meaning something so big as we imagine. I was never there as a real ‘I’. In fact I is never there. That is why you are free. I is nothing. Could not have been born and can never die.
There is only life and body. Not my life and body. We are not souls, we are not anything. That is why we are free, because we are never to be found as anything anywhere. That we and me are just words for pointing out a body. There is body, that is in pain, and all problems. All this belong to life. Nowhere is a 'me'. The me was never ever there. It can't die, because it was never ever there. Not even as an illusion. That is the illusion. So simple. It is like putting a yellow tag on red and telling the red that you are yellow. Like telling the tiger- you are a sheep. Never ever was. Adam and eve were Adam and eve. Not a ‘me’ and a ‘you’.

I and you are just illusory words.  They are just not even a word. It is a catalyst. The most deadly of the catalyst. It doesn’t get affected on its own, but has the ability to effect life itself - as if - to behave as a separate 'person'. In fact, life should have been getting rid of this word once for all, if it didn’t want to suffer. But that would end the dream that life is dreaming because it would now become like a single colour painting. Like a green background only, searching for a photograph. Not even a shade would be found to make a mark of a portrait.
So there  isn’t an 'I'. There is only life and body parts there. Life doesn’t need an owner. It itself is the creator of pain and feeler of pain. So 'I' is free, because it never was. Funny isn’t it?. How that sense came into being is the question that doesn’t have an answer and that doesn’t need an answer as there is no-one other than life. But that’s the way life sees itself. Have good laugh ( and that will also be life laughing using that body ).
When there is an understanding  that this ’I’ has no actual significance for oneself, it will dissolve like salt toy  in the ocean of life .The whole ‘me- sense’ that was feeling energetic due to mistaken ownership for life itself, will seem like an arrogance and it will be seen clearly that life was all that there was. Life was seeing, hearing etc etc and walking and talking all bodies and the body that was considered mine. There was no-sense in considering life belonged to a ‘me’. It was a wrong usage of the term that had picked up a new meaning which was actually and arrogantly meaningless. There was no owner to life as an individual. There was no ‘I’. There was no you and the tree and the buffalo. These were just identity tags for life to communicate in life. There wasn’t any person within or outside of life. Life behaved as an individual and there was a sense of ownership. It was as if life was kidnapped and renamed as ‘me’. That was ignorance and arrogance.

All there is –is life. There wasn’t a me. So the me was never existing and was never in bondage because it never ever existed to begin with. It was never born. There was a need to attach it any meaning which now has to be removed. Life is void. It is like the vastness of darkness. You cant find it with a light called ‘me’. You will see only the light. You cant see life.
So there is nothing to do. Just to realise that, ‘I’ never was and never will be. All there is –is life.

28. Enlightenment - Experience and Non-Experience.

It is worth normally to discuss enlightenment to the waking state only to understand what happens there or how we function within it.
We can say that - it is life - that is seeing and hearing outside the framework of the body, It is life -that is feeling the touch and taste on the frame work of the body and some emotions and sensations inside the framework of the body. So the body is just a visual illusion to earmark where you start or end. But the real you ‘who’  is the perceiver of objects - is life itself, doing certain aspects of perceiving outside and certain aspects inside the borderline of so-called body. So as a perceiver, we have no inside and outside.
Now there is a world out there ( seen by life) and an experiencing here in the body, of the world out there,  in synchronism with the outside world.
For example, If you see a snake, immediately, there is a fear experience in the body. In other words, two actions are happening simultaneously, One is the seeing of a snake, not by a body, but by ‘life’ itself (which seems to have ‘space’ as its body), and an experience of fear, experienced by ‘life’ ( which think is experienced by the limited body. This combination confirms to a belief that the body is doing the seeing and also the experiencing as if,  there was a person in there, who had a capacity to see outside and feel inside.
This synchronising effect, together with the belief of a person residing inside the body, keeps the story of the person living in ‘time’. The story is further strengthened by thoughts confirming, as to what  was seen and how dangerous it was etc, as if the thoughts were initiated inside the body, by that person. A little sprinkling of earlier memories, when such a scene was experienced, is then added and all this seemingly enacts the reality in space and time of a continued story. These thoughts are very much necessary to infuse feelings and emotions of their own, without the visual snake being there.
In enlightenment, what is clear is that, all activities belong to life and the body is just an illusion which had no role other than make a boundary-line for seemingly inside feelings and outside seeing. It is also seem that the visual outside is without any person attached to a body or a  thingness attached to objects. It is also linked to no separate experiencer to experiences and all experiences are seemlessly happening in the knowing. So there is confirmation of meaninglessness to a sense of a separate  ‘I’ or You or Things or places as here and there etc., whatever language uses to make a feel of objectivity to this audio visual world as an appearance.
There are just forms changing in its format and without a core. For example -like clouds, changing shapes. When all objects are thus seen without a core – so as to say, and the core in the self body is also not felt, there is perfect non-experience to events that are happening as if to a person. It is like, as if meaning cant be made to what is visualised in a subject object format. This takes away the element of time being a reality to the visual, and life seems to be doing the seeing, without a ‘me’ with no sense of time. The inexperience of time, cannot make a story or a sequence of what is seen. What is experienced therefore is a timeless experience. It would be like a dream, that had no sequence to events and in which the central dream character that ‘you’ are - were missing. The whole dream then is timeless and inconsequential.
So it could be related to as if being awake to our dream state with our eyes open. No person, no time and no attachments and so no story.
The waking state, in normal sense is thus, a story of ‘me’ personalising  all experiences. In the realisation of the real nature of creation, there is an end to  the ‘me’ story and all its sub stories of others and memory is allowed to be used only to live peacefully with others, so that you may not be sent to a mental asylum.
Then the story plays on, but now, it has been seen trough that ‘life’ is all there is – stripping out all the illusions and also the experiences of fear and anxiety as mere thought forms that have no basis in reality.  The body is then clearly seen as an instrument of expression to life like an ‘amplifier’ expressing the inaudible to the crowd.
It is also seen, that life was always so, and it took just one ‘ Lucid Non experiencing’ experience to blow the cover of the  ‘belief,  that there could be a person inside any- body.

27. How Human-Being works.

We are made of three parts. One is the body, operated muscularly, second is a prompting mechanism or mental thoughts, and something hidden that seems to know whatever is happening as a knowing capacity.
Now suppose the example is seeing the view in front of us, the whole creation is what appears like a single painting in space and is seen by a ghost called visual knowing, then there is a mental meaning making to patterns that is perceived as if to one part of the perception called 'me' and separated from the totality of perception and 'made' to feel like the other and somehow there is knowing of the subjective me and objective world, God knows to who.
All this three happenings are superimposed on each other as if to seem like an entity is reading and understanding. There is no seeing from here at all, in place, there is simply a ‘cognising’ or knowing of print. There is no understanding by an individual at all, but only prompt or thoughts which have in-built understanding. The thought encompasses meaning within itself. If thoughts don’t prompt, your head could stare at this screen for ever and no 'seeming' reading would happen, like if the print is Chinese or Kannada. And if the thought prompted that you read something, that was not there, then you actually felt that you read something and it actually was not there. This normally happens for skipping lines when reading. Therefore, it is quite likely that you missed reading many paragraphs or read something which was never there. For example there is a perception of a body and 'your' thought prompts you that he is someone you know and talking will happen until the ignorance is expelled. So you cannot know until thoughts makes you the knower, to what it feels it knows.
The knowing of all content, is a ghostly factor that is not there -as ‘something’ or ‘not something’. It is not- something- that is present, but, something which makes the presence of a thing felt. It is called life. Life is not something. Life is what gives us a feel or brings about presence of colours, feelings sounds etc. All those that are present, like colours etc. And may be called objects, are felt present, only, due to ‘life’ being present, prior to, something that can be objectively present.
This is our unborn quality. Life is what we are as ‘I’ ‘you’ it etc. The ‘I’of all is the same ‘I’. The knowing of being present. Moreover, all things are just appearances, in life, made of  ‘life’ as if -to say- that, it is life itself which ‘appears’ as colours, shapes, sounds etc or life expresses itself as objects. The objectivity of an object or the thingness of a thing is an expression of life. Colours seem lively, people and animals and birds and sunset and stone and rivers all – seems so lively, because they express life itself. So the source of all objectivity is life, which, is just appearances in life, appearing real to the life that you are.
All there is – is life. All objects are pointing to existence of life and not so much to existence of the objects. For example, if you see a pen, ‘you’ are alive. “You’ are alive ‘to’ the pen ‘at’ the pen. The ‘knowing’ regarding the pen is happening at the pen. That is where knowing or ‘you’ or ‘life’ is simply available. It is ‘life’ that knows, ‘life’ that sees all at the source of the so called objects. It’s ‘Life’ that is alive to itself. Aliveness is life. Life is not the opposite of death. Death is the opposite of Birth. Life a just a capacity to see or feel all births and deaths etc., including what we call ‘our’ body. Life has no ‘our’ ‘your’ etc. There are only bodies. Life animated bodies.  It is life that appears to animate a body as a live body, a blind body, a dead body. And ‘You’ are that ‘Life’ or knowing as “nothing’ and always before any births and deaths. Time and space are not available to our senses. They are just words attached to thoughts, to stretch presence of objects longer using techniques of the mind. Time and space are mind games – which is also a quality, life puts in, to make its play seem ‘spicy’.
It is only bodies, objects and thoughts - that appear to be born or come into existence and remain for duration in time and space and disappear or die to its assumed shape or form.
The knowing of these activities is a knowing to / of   life - that ‘you’ are. This life is not limited to a body. Not trapped inside. There must be ‘ life’ to be around the tree to bring about its ‘seeing’ as an object, there must be life inside the tree to give it appearance of being alive, etc. However all of this comes about as a ‘knowing’ to the life that you are. Knowing is life. It is all pervading. Where ever to put the focus, there is a knowing of something present or absent. That all pervading life is what is all that is there.
If one wants to hold on to a personal self, he can do so– but to a impersonal ‘life’. Or else it ‘seems’ an imagined bondage that we try to get liberated from.

Happy ‘beingness’.

26. Mind and matter and Consciousness.

Matter is anything that is perceived. We call it matter in perception. We know it as only the knowable. Measurable or not is arguable. But perceivable or not is acceptable. So matter is a content of our knowing of it.
The source of matter can be reduced to atoms or an energy field and that in turn can be reduced to the knowing of it, somehow. Even dream is a matter of knowing. So matter is simply a matter of knowing and it simply doesnt matter if matter has any matter that is measurable. All matters are of the same content, and such a content is in the knowing of it. So even hard matter boils down to basic nature of atom called protons and neutrons and electrons and this are just bundles of energy spinning this way and that way and that also is a mental construct to some sort of knowing.
Mind is something that apparently perceives matter just to objectify it. Mind is the space of also of memory as data, or feeling or experiences as concepts. Its essence is to give reality to an illusion. The functioning of mind is to perceive and objectify creation as an objective world to a subjective 'me'. It creates the world of objects and also a 'me'. So matter is an objectification in thought. The world is a bundle of matter or a bundle of thoughts. There are no thoughts separate from the mind and no world separate from perception. World is a perception and mind converts it to reality as in 'matter'.
What is mind in relation to matter? Where does mind fit into matter? Does matter have mind or does mind have matter?.
All  ‘matter’ can be boiled down to its elements and fitted into a concept called ‘chemicals’ or Bhor’s atomic chart. This will take care of its molecular structure and further combinations. It will take care of its properties as well. Its energy etc. All scientific theories and all science can be included in this concept that matter is chemical in nature.Even the physical is an appearance of chemical.
Mind perceives matter. So mind is the preceptor of matter. Mind is the context in which matter is the content. All matter make the world or universe. There is no universe other than matter. Now the mind perceives the world / universe. The world is the content of perception. whatever the mind perceives is its contents. The contents of the kitchen, or bedroom is what makes the context. It is like as if – the sofa, TV, carpet, show pieces etc. are contents for a hall and the appearances of these contents is what makes the room into a hall. The same room will be a bedroom by only changing the contents. So the contents make up the context or the context contain the contents. The context has no meaning or existence without the contents and has to necessarily includes the content.
So the world/ universe or energy or matter ( form and formless) which is the content of mind makes mind its context which therefore includes the world. So the world belongs to the mind.
Now, the source of mind is consciousness. The knowing of all perception is an intelligence of consciousness. Unfortunately, contents seem to have its limitations and the mind must be limitless in order to accommodate limitations. Limitations of mind to make contents as objects in nature could be assumed to be memory, knowledge, imagination, conditioning, emotions feelings etc. However these also would have to be content to the knowing, or Mind.
Aliveness is the quality of Mind. To be alive is to be capable to perceive. The perception is the perceiving of it and the perceiving is aliveness as Mind. So aliveness is a perceivable absence that has the capacity to perceive matter. The absence perceives presence, by Being it. Matter thus includes all that is in creation or nature, being some sort of forms and formless knowing. There would be trees and buffalos as forms and thought and emotions and feelings as formless but eventually all forms are born out of the formless aliveness that is present and known as an absence. Very strange. Such aliveness is what we are in our true nature, even though it shapes itself like an individual body, or limited in space and time. Hence bodies are illusory, as knowing is all there is.
Finally, since all perceptions are of the mind, the physical objective universe is a mental construct.
Also - nothing ever happened other than as mind made 'facts'. It is a great Joke.

25. Life -An illusion or reality?

What is reality?
Truth or Reality is that which cannot be negated in time and that which is changeless in all states of our existence. It is independent as existence, and doesnt need support from another, for ‘it’s’ existence.  This is called ‘SAT’.
Unreality is something that simply cannot even be imagined to exist. For example -Horn for a rabbit. This is called ‘ASAT’.
An illusion is that which appears to exist, with the help of a hidden source. We can say, all effects, lie in its cause, as if cause is the source of effects and effects by themselves are only an expression of the cause, and has no existence in its own merit. Like brightness exists due to light. Nobody experiences light, we only experience brightness or the effects or its sensations or its expressions. Similarly, we say electricity exists based of its effects like shock, or torque or light and vibrations etc. So the effects cannot exist of its own self. Like water as mirage is not what it is, unless caused by light and heat and space.

So what exists ‘could’ be attributed as the expression of ‘life’ as source, by making its presence in the existential field as ‘appearance’,. So all of this is content to existence or knowing, that is dependent on aliveness or capacity to know, or simply ‘Life’. So knowing of content, appears to be solid 'content' to knowing, while actually it is simply its  'knowing' as if  content. So it exists as 'knowing' but behaves as 'content'. (to knowing). In a way, there is an existential deception. Deception is called ‘MITHYA’ or Illusion. It is and is not, as real. Meaning, it existes as a mental reality, rather than a physical reality. There are no physical realities, even though it seems to be. The dream, that we see in sleep, is a good example of an illusion. It is there as long as the dream lasts and then it disappears. It does not have a beginning, but seems to have an end when we wake up.

What is more bothering to the seeker, is the world in the waking state. It appears real, can be argued to be real, appears to have a feel of reality in time and space and a good example is our own body which we cannot deny as real. However, there seems to be enough arguments by the learned ones that this waking state world of objects, is as unreal as the dream state, as it is not independent of the know-er.
In other words, reality, which is the opposite of an illusion, must have a stamp of knowing that the source is not mistaken to be the appearance, or the source appears as the appearance, but it is known for its source. Like fire is known for its flame. Or light is known to be the mirage. At best an illusion can exist as an appearance of something more real.
In simpler words, a dream is an illusion, because it doesn’t exist in waking state and the contents of the waking state behave like a dream, for somebody who has actually lost the 'me-sense' to the body or his reference point, as a person to that body. In this case, there is only what is happening but not happening to anybody. Life seems to swing from waking illusory state to sleep, dream illusory state.
What exactly could be true and how is it possible to know or see through illusions if any – would be a seekers quest.
Let us start with a standard example – rope and the snake.
Assume a small piece of rope, lying across the street. There is a possibility  –like when the lighting is poor- that it could appear scary like a snake. There is also a possibility that it could appear like a look attractive like, say,  a flower garland or an ornament with some different light effect.
What will now play a role in the seeing of this object are – 1) knowledge of how a rope or snake or garland should be, memory of such image or concept, the fear or thrill associated with such a concept, the lighting around the rope to make the rope appear differently.
The rope can be seen as a rope ( sat), need not be noticed at all ( asat) or perceived as snake and run for cover or get attracted when perceived as an ornament or a garland.
The seer or assumed person does not have a role, to influence the seeing, in a pattern that would seem to be the result of seeing. The seeing itself would appear as real or unreal or an illusion. So ‘Maya’ or the power of memory and knowledge has a role to play, for seeing of objective reality and experiencing it. The object of seeing itself, can initially appear as snake or an ornament, which is knowledge as memory and is independent of the seer. This, then gets combined with the physical bodily sensation of scariness or happiness, to finally make the object seen as snake or ornament. In one case (snake), we run away due to fear and in the other case (ornament) we approach it with wonder.
In real life also, we see people getting attracted or repelled due to their appearance and knowledge of their personality or the concept one has about them, that makes or breaks relationships.
All of the above are happening of one source. The source is called ‘life’ (or consciousness). It is life that creates forms,  enacts forms to appears as whatever, it also is the source of thoughts, which play the role of making meanings to the forms. It is also life that does the seeing, hearing, etc and the feeling of emotions to complete the conceptualisation. When this gets done, the illusion of the real world is played out.
Intuitively, if there is an understanding of  the play of consciousness, which, in a manner of speaking would be -consciousness trying to understand itself, then and only then, will there be a clarity, that all appearances are devoid of concepts in their appearance as such and are first and foremost only shapes and forms. It is also known that the illusion of thingness to forms, making them appear objective, is the power of knowledge or language. The veil of  ‘Maya’, associated with memory, thus gives the illusion sense of reality to name and form to convert them to ‘things’ and ‘persons’ and other objects.
But where we get stuck in analysis, is that we expect an illusion or reality, as either one, that could be there, at a given point of time. This is not true. “Maya’ or a magic comes into play to fulfil this requirement of both being true and untrue at the same time. It is more like to people seeing the rope, would see the same rope as snake to one and ornament to the other
What is true is that, all appearances in waking state and dream state are illusions. The illusion of time, belief’s and imaginations, give it an appearance of reality. So existence of simple forms sprinkled with ‘Maya’ gives it a meaning and this meaning has a way to be retained in memory and this memory with the capacity of imagination of its value in future,  is able to maintain the status of these forms as ‘independent’ existence of  objects in time.
Thus ‘Maya’ takes on the ‘concept’ as real objects. Like a ‘person’ to a human form. It forms the thingness of objects and forms. This creates separation as no two things would then seem the same. Each human form would be taken as independent life or person, even when it is clear that the operator of all forms is ‘life’ itself.  So the basis of separation is ‘Maya’. That separation is cause of split of  the illusion to make it feel a reality. It makes one body seemingly to have an entity called me. When this gets to feel real, the same magic works on all objects to make them feel as real as self entity.
So as long as the feel or sense of individual self or 'I' exists, the 'you' and 'other' will spurt up to make the illusion of wholeness to a collection of real objects.
So oneness, uses ‘Maya’, which has no substance of its own, but has the capacity to make all non substances to seem like made of real substance.
In the whole play of nature, the ignorance of man is in committing the error in seeing separation as a'fact'.. He is at the mercy of such seeing. The seeing itself will reflect as the seeing of separate objects or the seeing itself will appear as one whole illusion at a later stage. All there is- is ‘seeing’.
All appearances are true and unreal at the same time. So, for people who challenge the reality, there are enough arguments to prove their case and for persons who challenge the unreality, there are equal arguments for the same. Both are valid. It is life that appears as objects and life that appears as persons on both side of the argument. So all that is seen, is just a play of life ‘in’ life.
All there is to know, is that -there is only oneness or wholeness in which all is included or there is only energy as a knowing, which appears as everything or something or emptiness to each of us in a way ‘It’ decides.
An intuitive feel, that all that is seen is just one play of life –is enough to dissolve separation and bring about what we can call liberation, which was always the case and was un-noticed.
