40. Life & What is happening& Knowing.

Understanding of life, as separate individual is limited understanding. Separation or duality is a feeling, created by use of language mixed with life putting in some sensations in the body to cap it. This language is designed so by life itself, so that the life can hide its objective nature completely, as the doer of all doing, and make a show as if, all its doings are done by forms as separate living entities. Life itself is formless, appearing as forms doing everything. Its working is so unique, that it maintains a stand, that all happening is the outside world and it’s knowing is as the inside world and separated by a boundary called limited by the body.

Lets understand what life is as we know it to be. We think life is required for movement. Therefore we can assume that life is what is moving or animating us. But thought fails to accommodate the fact that, all movement happens or is done by life itself. So walking, eating, talking, thinking etc, whatever movement can be imagined, is done by life. What is our role in it? Nothing. Movement is change and this applies to all that is changing and change is all there is, some slow and some fast.

We also understand that, life is required for seeing, hearing, smelling, feeling, and tasting. Or we can say sensing. The language used here, is as if, we make use of life to do the sensing. Life is actually doing all this, on our behalf, if we may say so.

Such sensing is done partly outside, partly on the body surface and balance inside of the body. For example, seeing and hearing is happening outside, feeling, smell and taste may be on the body and some stomach ache is sensed inside.

So life seems to be active in two zone, one is its external activity as the world and other is its internal activity of feelings, emotions thoughts etc. If life is doing all this, what are ‘we’ doing? Nothing.

What else is the activity of life? - growth, decay and regeneration. When life regenerates all the cells within the body, like blood cells and other cells, by decaying them and recycling them, once in seven years, we need life for this activity. However, we say, a man died. Is it possible for a man to remain ‘undecayed’ without life there? Will he not remain as such for  2 million years or more years ( lifetime of the planet) as a ‘dead’ body?.  Probably will. So if decay is happening, we say, life there is doing this decay. So what is our role in decaying the body? Nothing.

So Life is birth, activity, death, decay, change of form, seeing, hearing, sensing, emotions, thoughts etc etc.

Another important thing about life: Flame is form and fire is its source. Likewise, any appearance is form and life is its essence or source. So anybody, trees, stones etc., is just life appearing as anybody, stone, tree etc. What is our role here? Nothing.

So form is life, activity is life, sensing is life. Is there anything else left out?. Even that would be Life.

So all there is -is Life, split into two, active or passive forms as its dynamic aspect and sensing or knowing as its static aspect.

So life plays itself out and life knows its play by itself. What is our role so far? Nothing.

So we can say that there is life happening and the knowing of it is also happening, without any effort on the so called individual.

Lets take the first. Life happening. All that is happening- is seen as life. Life has no other identification. Sensing life, is the knowing of what is happening. There is no life, outside of this happening or outside of this knowing.

If Life is activity and life is sensing also, are they two aspects, independent of each other? Like sound and hearing? Can the scene be independent of its seeing? Can a sound be independent of its hearing, Can the sensed objects be independent of its sensing, Can an activity be independent of its knowing? No, So, are they two aspects or one single aspect split as if into two? Is not the sensing of the activity, the happening or the activity itself?

What if,  there was only one aspect of life without the second just apparently as if outside of the one to appear as another? As if knowing of content was all there was and content to knowing seemingly separate from such knowing of it. Similarly, what if -all activity was in the sensing itself?. How could this be? Say, like in a dream, where knowing of dream itself is the dreaming or dream content.
Alternatively, If we go into matter, into the atom of matter, we find atoms moving as an activity, which means life. So as long there is matter, there is life. No matter whether the matter seems medically alive or not. ( That matter is alive or not, is a limited medical version). But all activity is life, all matter is atomic and having life. In fact all matter is an appearance of life, in life. Now, the material of all matter, seems to be energy and the material of energy seems to be nothing as its source except as a kind of intelligence that is non-matter.  So life is non material and only appears as material, like a wave or a vibration, having no appearance of itself, suddenly appears as sound, between 20 and 20000 hzs, may be colour at some hzs, and hardness at some other hzs. Completing its formation of a solid form being nothing of itself as the material of vibration.

Can all these hzs be simultaneously? Or will there be a resultant?. Take a speaker coil for example. One coil, one electricity. Lets say, 10 instruments play at a time, being fed to the coil. Does the diaphragm vibrate with 10 different set of frequencies at a given time to notice 10 different instruments, or does it vibrate with a single resultant vibration as if one instrument was playing? Life knows or God knows, but 10 instruments are heard with the diaphragm vibrating as a resultant.

Therefore, Life is all there is- and all there is -is knowing of sensing of all there is, as if life was forms, playing itself as a seeker, seeking life!.

Knowing seems to be an activity of ‘now’ or ‘time’ and all happenings seems to be an activity in space. Just like time is the next measurement of volume or space, to include space in it, like volume to area, or area to length, or length to a point, knowing includes contents as itself, all encompassing

Splitting all this into separate events and separate objects, is 'mind' game or an intelligent game of life, so as to feel separate and subjective and as if an individual was doing the seeing and hearing and seeking.

39. Master -Student dialog.

The Master is to a student and the student –is to a Master. So :
S:         Master, Are you a realised person.
M:        Yes, as far are you think I am and no- as far I know what realisation is, when you realise it on your own. In any case, It doesn’t matter. You may ask me what you want to clarify. If it does the job, your job is done.
Ok. Who am I or who are you?
Wrong question, what am I, is more useful.
Ok. So what am I or what are you.
What I am is what you are and is the same as what all are
And what is that?
Just One, 'Life' that is apparently appearing as many,
This doesn’t get me anywhere.
OK. What is your idea of what we are?
I am a body based entity called ‘Person’ and alive.
Starting from this knowledge, seeking starts, with a doubt that this is not the ultimate truth. The doubt leads to asking what could yo be, if you were not to be a body based entity called ‘person’. Of course, you already know by now that you are not the body.
If I am not a person in the body, then I am dead. Dead person.
Ok. Doesn’t this answer your question now. You have come so closer to the truth. What are you, if you are a dead person.
How would I know, if I am dead?.
Your idea of death, is for that which was born. If you are not the body, you are ‘life’ itself that embodies the body. Or life itself appears as body like fire to a flame. In your  idea of life, human cells grow, die and regenerate within the body. Similarly, after the so called death, if life were not present, decay would not  happen at all for next two million years. So life has no death. Life, in thought form, makes a belief that ‘this’ body is alive and can die.Death is for the ‘person’, other than life, which is illusory. Life continues there, decaying the body. Life has no subjective nature. Life spins itself out as objects and so every object is a sample of life. So you can’t know life because you are life. I and me is the language of life, giving a feel of a separate person inside there, other than life, which is also an act of life, to play diverse roles.
So where does that leave me?, or, how can my mind grasp this as a concept?.
It is not for the mind to grasp, because life includes minds grasping and thought. It is enough to know that you are ‘life’, as its knowing capacity or subjective capacity that can know its own objective behaviour. This body and all bodies, as its objects. They ‘are’ forms and the knowing forms the ground, in which all appearances are arising as content or 'known'.
And what is this ‘form’ of this ‘ground’
Either you know what you are as the ground called ‘knowing’ or you understand what life is as appearances . The ‘I am’ as knowing being the knower of all the content of knowing. So knowing needs no-more meaning or concept other than as -simply the capacity of knowing. The knowing knows what appears –as forms and the mind is put into action to give meaning to them, to feel forms as real, or make appear a real world of objects. So meaning or concepts are made, as if,  to objectify forms as ‘persons’ trees, dogs, thoughts etc, for the purpose of making explanations in the behaviour of life as – separate contents of knowing.
So life does the knowing by being its object of knowing?.
Yes.
So what is ‘death’.
There isn’t a ‘death’. There is only change of form, as content of knowing. The whole world of object is continuously changing, so that, and apparently knows itself, by being the knowing, as the changeless that knows the changing content. So the changeless is the knowing aspect of life, while change is the Being aspect of life. The static and the dynamic. Only what is born can die. Forms only change its appearance, like a moth to a butterfly. All change if from nothing to something, to something else, to nothing. Death is just a phase in transformation, like birth, to childhood, to adulthood, to old age to death. What knows birth and death, is life as its knowing capacity and cannot experience death of its own true nature, as one imagines it to be.
Still unclear.
Life is only what there is. Life exhibits itself as forms. animated forms, inert forms, thought forms, etc. Life knows itself as forms, that come and go, in its knowing aspect, also known as consciousness. We are not separate from life. We are life, as its capacity to know or as consciousness. The so called our body, our mind is also an appearance arising in consciousness. Thoughts and sensations arise, to give the feelingness of an individual entity to this body, as a play of life. This is seen as its personality or objectivity. This causes immediate separation in life to make believe a subjective person and an objective world, both being two aspects of life. However it is clear that, such a person is illusory, having the body as a illusory border to -a inside me and a outside world.  The visual and audible objects seem to appear ‘outside’ the bodyline. Sense of taste and touch, appears ‘on’ the border line, and a stomach ache and pain –‘inside’ the body line – all to the knowing. So knowing knows the world as a set of sensations happening both outside and inside or everywhere –so as to say. So the appearances are happening outside and inside the body. The knowing of these appearances are happening ‘at’ the appearance. So consciousness or awareness is ‘where’ appearances appear or both inside and outside the body. Thus, body is just an imaginary boundary for referencing. It is the thought that refers all appearances with such reference as a body. But such border is illusory or unreal to consciousness or ‘ knowing’ aspect of life. It is only understood that way, for the play of life. The presence and absence of all appearances are known both inside and outside the body. Therefore, life is ‘knowing’ in its subjective nature and world of objects, in its objective nature. So life is consciousness as ‘nothing’ as its subjective ‘no form’ and appears as a world of forms as its objective nature.

38. Conceptualising the 'Mind'.

  • The observation of a flower is happening 'at' the flower itself. It cannot happen anywhere else. Who is it that is 'at' the flower doing the observation? - there is nobody there, other than a so called observer who cannot be observed as an object. So the subject cannot be an object of observation. Since there is no observation of observer, there is no objective observer, other than an object of observation. So there are only objects and no subject other than object itself. What is there at the flower is only the flower itself.
  • The observer is the observing itself. Lets presume what we observe is observed by mind or consciousness. Is there anything else other than what is observed called the mind? How would we know, if we would know, it would come under the heading observed. Has the mind any other function, other than observing?. None what so ever. So if this is the only function and all observed is this function, then the mind is nothing but the totality of what is observed as it is nothing else as knowable and has no other function.
  • The object of knowing -is the knowing of object itself. There is no other object and no other knowing outside of this 'knowing' of the object as the object of knowing. All there is - is knowing.
  • The existence of an object is known in Time. So objects seems have a temporal quality other than length or area or volume. Anything that doesn’t have a duration doesn’t exist. So time is the existence provider to objects. So time is mind because mind has the same function of time. What is not existing in time or mind - does not exist. So the essence of time or source of time is same as that of mind. So time is the observer which is also the mind and this seems to give the feel or duration to objects to give its objectively 'existing' quality.
  • When we say, time is mind, It just means 'now' or present moment or just presence - because presence is awareness and doesn’t have an objective quality to be conceptualised.
  • Mind is time. Time is 'now'. Now is the present moment or presence. Presence is consciousness. Consciousness is awareness. Awareness is Beingness. Beingness is 'I am'. 'I am' is timeless and has time and space as its content that is ever changing. The looks of now is ever changing to make feel that time and space are reality, even though it is supported as its source by aliveness or Life itself.

37. Life –Separation and confusion.

Life is love. Life loves to do what it does. So it does apparently through these bodies. It is the same that we see on a individual sense. We love to do what we do. For smokers, they love to smoke and for non smokers, they love not to smoke. What is common is the love affair. We love to love. We love to hate, the killers love to kill, saviours love to save. Robbers  loves to rob etc. The common denominator is love. Life is indifferent by itself to pleasure and pain because both are expressions of life in the game of duality. From one level of seeing life,  love and hate seems separate views and cannot feel that it could arises out of a common source because they have nothing in common. This arises from living in the confusion of being a separate individual. When living in the clarity of oneness or that, life in all bodies is the source of all animation, there is no confusion. Confusion arises out of division and division is the basis of confusion. The initial division is that, we are separate and divided as we and the world out there which is not connected but divided from us. In the end, all opposites must dissolve into being meaningless when living happens from the standpoint of wholeness and clarity dawns that division is an illusion.
