36. Mind – The Individual Entity.

As we grow, we have many questions in life. We get answers. Some are accepted and some are rejected. So a knowledge bank builds up. This bank is nothing but understanding the world in terms of subject object world, in order to survive avoiding pain and seeking pleasure. In fact it is amusing to note that the answers are mostly known because we accept them or reject them. To reject the answers, one must have an idea of what the real answer seems like. Similarly, to accept an answer, one must be ready with a view of an acceptable answer. Some logic there, seems to tell him that this answer is acceptable. He knows this logic. He knows when the answer is acceptable. This can’t be so unless there is surety of the answer even before the answer hits him. So we know, before we know. Strange

The questioner  is mind or thought. There is only knowledge that seems to be operating the mind. There cant be any other mechanism involved to operate the mind. The way, mind keeps itself active or alive, or seemingly ‘is there’,  by keeping itself busy seeking all type of knowledge to maintain separation as an individual mind. This cycle of creating questions from knowledge that is already there, ( which is nothing but a collection of answers that it already has), and finding answers for such questions thus arising, is what is maintaining the continuity of the mind. The mind is also providing the sense of an individual entity that seems to have these questions and seeking these answers. So mind provides the sense of an individual entity. So in its opposite version, No-mind means no individual entity. No mind or no thought means, the thinker is absent. No thinking means, answers are not required. So one who is not seeking answers, has no requirement of questions and does not need the feel of an individual entity. So, the individual entity is nothing but the questioner or mind and these questions arise only due to knowledge already fed in there in the past, which is now seeking more knowledge to keeps itself modified due to the changing nature of 'what is' or what is happening. Once some basic knowledge has been gained for survival, just to avoid being targeted by society as 'not fitting into the norms of social culture' more knowledge is actually an hindrance, as it strengthens the nature of being separate of making a strong sense of person ( ego)
Life, that we actually are, at the core of our 'being' can then experience the world directly, when the sense of 'individuality' is at the minimum or has dissolved. Seeking to know why , why, why, of all appearances comes to an end and it is known that the sense of an entity was purely notional in thoughts and had no reality of its own. Life becomes much lighter without the sense of separate person and life goes on just the same with a very light sense of 'being'.
It feels very light and very funny and very peaceful, as if that was what one was always seeking. An absence of being 'one'.
