44. Life, Movement and Measurement.

We need to see through measurement and movement in order to understand life.

We are educated to understand the meaning of measurement. But the understanding has been influenced by maintaining that the measuring instrument, or unit of measure being taken for granted as flawless and also meaningful.  It’s not the question of finding fault with the measure. It’s the question of seeing through the meaning of measurement.

The standard measure that we have are : point, length, area, volume for one kind of measure, that we think is a visual objective. Then we have formless objectivity, and their measures like for sound,  energy etc. These are in units, that are more complex and have to do with waves, frequency, etc. However, these have a compulsory element of time within them. A wave, vibration, frequency, etc, has no meaning without time. It’s as if, they always are a function of time or movement and cannot be applied to anything that is ‘stationary’. The visual objectivity or measurement seems in some cases not in time, because, these do not have an element of time, Like a room or a hill, unless one is dealing with how objectiveness of the visual scene seems to change.

Does a seen scene change or we can fix a scene as stationary?. If we keep looking at any scenery in the day, its objective experience changes with brightness or with time. This is for stationary scenes, like seeing a stone or a hill. It becomes green or brown in the day and becomes black in the night, and so on. So even a stationary scene, seems alive, and that, it keeps changing. Of course, a non stationary scene, wherein things or objects move, is already a changing scenario. So all scenes are changing. There is nothing like a stationary scenery, visual or audible or otherwise. Perception of sound , feel, taste also change. We do not experience a continuous touch, or taste or sound. I doubt if we can feel anything that is not a movement. What we always recognise is change. Life is change, movement etc and our Self is the unchanging, that can recognise a change.

Coming back to measurement, Measurement is a mental judgement of ‘stationaryness’ in movement. This means, we are trying to fix a scene or sound, as if it were stationary, and measure it, with something that may or may not be stationary in a sense. If an electron is always spinning, imagine that we are measuring its diameter by stopping it. This is an impossibility, because, a stopped electron cannot exist. There is no electron, if an electron stops. So we can only judge certain aspects of measurement. For example, a point is contained in a line, a line is contained in an area, an area is contained in volume and volume is contained in time. Each measure is at right angles to the other. So line is outside of point, area is outside of a line, volume is outside of an area and time is outside of a volume. Therefore, time must be outside volume or space to contain it and the Self or perceiving device, that we are, must be outside of time, even so, to judge time. So the perceiving device must contain space and time.

How valid are all these measurements. Are we measuring reality or illusion, using another illusion. This is what is important to be seen through.

We say that a man is moving at four kilometres and hour. Meaning he has travelled four  kilometres and /or one hour. Why are not measuring length with length and time with time. Why do we measure one with another. Can we say, that the heat is measured in length or my body temperature is 2 metres. Does it sound sensible. Supposing, time encompasses all measures, Can we measure something at right angle to another. For example can we measure area in volume as a fraction, or a length in terms or area or a point in terms of length. Why do we have to measure, kilometres per hour.  Its like measuring area per volume. What if time did not exists. What could be that, we are trying to measure?

What I am trying to get at, is the hopelessness of any measurement using time. Time is motion or movement itself. We cannot use movement to measure a stationary and neither can we use a stationary to measure a movement. Is time stationary or movement. That needs to be decided. Then we can get to the base of the matter of measurement.

Let us assume time is a movement because, we cannot except time to be stationary. If time is a movement, it has to move at 1 sec per second. So, if a man started a race at say 10 am and ended his race after two seconds, what does it indicate?  He was ‘here’ at 10 am time and was there, 2 secs later. After 2 secs, time itself has moved 2 secs. So, the ’10 am’ which has been his start reference, has itself become 10.02. So he remains ‘here’ itself. No matter how fast he runs, whatever time that he runs for, the time catches up with him, such a way, that, he is always, here. If he moves slowly or fastly, he is always here, as if, time was moving slowly or fastly, to keep with him to be always ‘here’. So ‘there’ is an impossibility.

His relative speed and absolute speed will ever be the same. Howsoever relatively slow or fast he may run, he will always be here. Where ever he would be, is called here. He can never ever be in a ‘there’. This is also the definition for light. Its relative and absolute speed is the same. So are we our own defined ‘light’ in which objects become visible r perceivable?

What does the above para mean. It only means, that, the ‘he’ is an illusion, because time is an illusion. It there is no time at all, all measurements included in time, is not there at all. So all there is  - is an illusion.

So how does this universe work?. Lets study with an exsample..
Make 3 slides, draw your head on one, next slide draw your torso and next slide draw your head in a new position as if head the head is turned, then erase the first slide, and use it to draw a torso with a leg in a new position. Now erase the second and draw something in a new position.etc etc. Ensure, that the slides are erased and reused. What you see when you see move these slides fast, there is change, just like how the universe works. The slide has no motion. But the change of slide brings in motion. The slide are real, but the seeing is not as per the slide. The seeing, is motion, which is not there, other than as an illusion. But what see there is,- is only the seeing. Its already being shown on the level of illusion. By the time, seeing is happening, illusion has set in. The stationary of the slide, what is there, is not seen or not there and the movement, which is in reality a ‘not there’ is seen or there, as an illusion or movement. So no movement is real and no reality is a movement. So what is there, is not seen and what is seen is not there.
That’s how the system works.
So always, Motion is illusory. We perceive as slides and the story is the movement. So cognising is in slides and recognising is the universe. In order to recognise, we need to join the pattern of the slides. This is done through the mind. The mind is the convertor from the slides to the motion, in which, it infuses meaning also to what is seen and makes it look like a story. The story itself is not reality and the meaning, depending on knowledge, tradition, memory etc, is even more unreality. The seeing is the seer of the scene. But the see-ing is broken up, as if, one of the objects of see-ing is a ‘me; and another as the ‘you’. But both me and you are objects. There isn’t a subject, other than the seeing. The seeing itself is the subject.
This is how the universe works. So there is no individual. But there is a story of an individual called me, dealing with stories of you and the other to knit all into one story called the universe as ‘we’ ( that are not ) see’s.
Then what are ‘we’. At most, since perceiving is obvious,  reality wise or motion wise,  we can assume that we are the slides. Instead of 3 slides, there is only one. So movement happens within the one. The one, changes itself to form the second and seen that way. So there is a continuous forming and seeing, in which bodies appear, objects appear and movement appears. So the reality is life that hides itself, by itself seeing all as ‘motion; or what is there or illusion.
