29. ‘Knowing’ as life and a ‘me’.

Imagine that your toe is paining. Now when a toe pains, it is only the toe that knows the pain, In fact -it is life 'at' the toe that knows the pain, not the leg, not chest, not the head, not the body and not the ‘me’ or an ‘I”. There is no owner to the pain, other than a simple knowing called life that is available at the toe. The pain is felt by life. It is not felt by ‘toe’ or any other part of the body. We use words, like , I feel the pain. These are just words. At max. the toe feels the pain. Whose toe?, body’s toe -says a thought, whose body- Mine- says the thought. These are just thoughts. That doesn’t shift the pain from the toe- to the body- and to the ‘I’. It seems here that ‘I’ wants to own a body, and body wants town a toe. There isn’t a need to own. You cant go on owning whatever is seen. You can’t own the Sun, Moon and bodies. Not even one body.
There is just life and body here. There is a knowing. A knowing of pain -at the point of pain, knowing of an object -at the point of an object and knowing of a sound -at the source of sound. All knowing at its source. That’s all there is. All there is –is knowing. All there is –is life. Playing bodies, knowing sounds etc.etc. There is no owner to life. There is no owner to knowing other than knowing itself. Life is the ‘knowing’. It is not your knowing. It is just ‘knowing’.
The knowing of pain is just a simple knowing. I and you are just words for communication. Simple words to avoid confusion. But these words are themselves the cause of confusion when the speaker believes them to be true. Then arise an owner for the pain. Therefore, It is not a toe that is paining, but an ‘I’ that has started to ‘suffer’. There is no suffering other than the pain in the toe. But this is made to seem that. The pain in the toe is causing a ‘me’ to suffer. ‘Me’ and ‘suffer’ are thus words without actual and factual meaning. But they are given pseudo meanings. Then these meaning are taken to be real and felt real – All as a play by life in life. Ignorantly.
There isn’t a owner to life. No body can know how this word ‘me’ has taken up such massive meaning as to own life within the body. There is just life. Appearing as bodies and object and life source or life energy moving them. It doesn’t require an owner. It works well even without a ‘sense ‘of individual ownership. If all parts of life, become independent owners, then petals will own petals and flower will own flower and toe will own toe. Up to this. It seems ok. But flower owning a petal and a body owning a toe still can make some sense. Wholeness or life can own bodies. ‘I’ cannot. Therefore there isn’t any thing called an ‘I’. The ‘I’ is only a personal sense of ownership. There is nothing new to be owned at the level of the body and life. In any case, a limited ‘I’ cannot own it. It is just a word floating around, and taking ownership of whatever it latches on to. It is like a tenant owning the house.
The I -is a word just used for communication between two human looking bodies. That communication is done by life and is known in life. However, there is a limited feeling with the uses of this word. It is as if this word has become alive somehow and taken procession or ownership of life within the body. It is life that gave birth to the word ‘I’ and the meaning there seems have given birth to life itself and limited it the life inside 'a' body. Now life gets captured by its own creation of the word 'I' that was meant for simple communication.
So the word ‘I’ has no standing as an owner. It doesn’t mean anything. ‘I’ cannot have pain in the toe. There is only – pain in this toe. So ‘I’ was never meaning something so big as we imagine. I was never there as a real ‘I’. In fact I is never there. That is why you are free. I is nothing. Could not have been born and can never die.
There is only life and body. Not my life and body. We are not souls, we are not anything. That is why we are free, because we are never to be found as anything anywhere. That we and me are just words for pointing out a body. There is body, that is in pain, and all problems. All this belong to life. Nowhere is a 'me'. The me was never ever there. It can't die, because it was never ever there. Not even as an illusion. That is the illusion. So simple. It is like putting a yellow tag on red and telling the red that you are yellow. Like telling the tiger- you are a sheep. Never ever was. Adam and eve were Adam and eve. Not a ‘me’ and a ‘you’.

I and you are just illusory words.  They are just not even a word. It is a catalyst. The most deadly of the catalyst. It doesn’t get affected on its own, but has the ability to effect life itself - as if - to behave as a separate 'person'. In fact, life should have been getting rid of this word once for all, if it didn’t want to suffer. But that would end the dream that life is dreaming because it would now become like a single colour painting. Like a green background only, searching for a photograph. Not even a shade would be found to make a mark of a portrait.
So there  isn’t an 'I'. There is only life and body parts there. Life doesn’t need an owner. It itself is the creator of pain and feeler of pain. So 'I' is free, because it never was. Funny isn’t it?. How that sense came into being is the question that doesn’t have an answer and that doesn’t need an answer as there is no-one other than life. But that’s the way life sees itself. Have good laugh ( and that will also be life laughing using that body ).
When there is an understanding  that this ’I’ has no actual significance for oneself, it will dissolve like salt toy  in the ocean of life .The whole ‘me- sense’ that was feeling energetic due to mistaken ownership for life itself, will seem like an arrogance and it will be seen clearly that life was all that there was. Life was seeing, hearing etc etc and walking and talking all bodies and the body that was considered mine. There was no-sense in considering life belonged to a ‘me’. It was a wrong usage of the term that had picked up a new meaning which was actually and arrogantly meaningless. There was no owner to life as an individual. There was no ‘I’. There was no you and the tree and the buffalo. These were just identity tags for life to communicate in life. There wasn’t any person within or outside of life. Life behaved as an individual and there was a sense of ownership. It was as if life was kidnapped and renamed as ‘me’. That was ignorance and arrogance.

All there is –is life. There wasn’t a me. So the me was never existing and was never in bondage because it never ever existed to begin with. It was never born. There was a need to attach it any meaning which now has to be removed. Life is void. It is like the vastness of darkness. You cant find it with a light called ‘me’. You will see only the light. You cant see life.
So there is nothing to do. Just to realise that, ‘I’ never was and never will be. All there is –is life.
