The Master is to a student and the student –is to a Master. So :
S: Master, Are you a realised person.
M: Yes, as far are you think I am and no- as far I know what realisation is, when you realise it on your own. In any case, It doesn’t matter. You may ask me what you want to clarify. If it does the job, your job is done.
Ok. Who am I or who are you?
Wrong question, what am I, is more useful.
Ok. So what am I or what are you.
What I am is what you are and is the same as what all are
And what is that?
Just One, 'Life' that is apparently appearing as many,
This doesn’t get me anywhere.
OK. What is your idea of what we are?
I am a body based entity called ‘Person’ and alive.
Starting from this knowledge, seeking starts, with a doubt that this is not the ultimate truth. The doubt leads to asking what could yo be, if you were not to be a body based entity called ‘person’. Of course, you already know by now that you are not the body.
If I am not a person in the body, then I am dead. Dead person.
Ok. Doesn’t this answer your question now. You have come so closer to the truth. What are you, if you are a dead person.
How would I know, if I am dead?.
Your idea of death, is for that which was born. If you are not the body, you are ‘life’ itself that embodies the body. Or life itself appears as body like fire to a flame. In your idea of life, human cells grow, die and regenerate within the body. Similarly, after the so called death, if life were not present, decay would not happen at all for next two million years. So life has no death. Life, in thought form, makes a belief that ‘this’ body is alive and can die.Death is for the ‘person’, other than life, which is illusory. Life continues there, decaying the body. Life has no subjective nature. Life spins itself out as objects and so every object is a sample of life. So you can’t know life because you are life. I and me is the language of life, giving a feel of a separate person inside there, other than life, which is also an act of life, to play diverse roles.
So where does that leave me?, or, how can my mind grasp this as a concept?.
It is not for the mind to grasp, because life includes minds grasping and thought. It is enough to know that you are ‘life’, as its knowing capacity or subjective capacity that can know its own objective behaviour. This body and all bodies, as its objects. They ‘are’ forms and the knowing forms the ground, in which all appearances are arising as content or 'known'.
And what is this ‘form’ of this ‘ground’
Either you know what you are as the ground called ‘knowing’ or you understand what life is as appearances . The ‘I am’ as knowing being the knower of all the content of knowing. So knowing needs no-more meaning or concept other than as -simply the capacity of knowing. The knowing knows what appears –as forms and the mind is put into action to give meaning to them, to feel forms as real, or make appear a real world of objects. So meaning or concepts are made, as if, to objectify forms as ‘persons’ trees, dogs, thoughts etc, for the purpose of making explanations in the behaviour of life as – separate contents of knowing.
So life does the knowing by being its object of knowing?.
Yes.
So what is ‘death’.
There isn’t a ‘death’. There is only change of form, as content of knowing. The whole world of object is continuously changing, so that, and apparently knows itself, by being the knowing, as the changeless that knows the changing content. So the changeless is the knowing aspect of life, while change is the Being aspect of life. The static and the dynamic. Only what is born can die. Forms only change its appearance, like a moth to a butterfly. All change if from nothing to something, to something else, to nothing. Death is just a phase in transformation, like birth, to childhood, to adulthood, to old age to death. What knows birth and death, is life as its knowing capacity and cannot experience death of its own true nature, as one imagines it to be.
Still unclear.
Life is only what there is. Life exhibits itself as forms. animated forms, inert forms, thought forms, etc. Life knows itself as forms, that come and go, in its knowing aspect, also known as consciousness. We are not separate from life. We are life, as its capacity to know or as consciousness. The so called our body, our mind is also an appearance arising in consciousness. Thoughts and sensations arise, to give the feelingness of an individual entity to this body, as a play of life. This is seen as its personality or objectivity. This causes immediate separation in life to make believe a subjective person and an objective world, both being two aspects of life. However it is clear that, such a person is illusory, having the body as a illusory border to -a inside me and a outside world. The visual and audible objects seem to appear ‘outside’ the bodyline. Sense of taste and touch, appears ‘on’ the border line, and a stomach ache and pain –‘inside’ the body line – all to the knowing. So knowing knows the world as a set of sensations happening both outside and inside or everywhere –so as to say. So the appearances are happening outside and inside the body. The knowing of these appearances are happening ‘at’ the appearance. So consciousness or awareness is ‘where’ appearances appear or both inside and outside the body. Thus, body is just an imaginary boundary for referencing. It is the thought that refers all appearances with such reference as a body. But such border is illusory or unreal to consciousness or ‘ knowing’ aspect of life. It is only understood that way, for the play of life. The presence and absence of all appearances are known both inside and outside the body. Therefore, life is ‘knowing’ in its subjective nature and world of objects, in its objective nature. So life is consciousness as ‘nothing’ as its subjective ‘no form’ and appears as a world of forms as its objective nature.
