12. Space and distances

Let us assume that we are seeing a distance to the moon say an approximate 10 kilometres and let’s say we are seeing an approximate 1 foot dia appearance of the moon. Now lets us see, what truth is there, in what we see.

Apparatus. : binoculars ( zooming capacity 100 times) and  a person who can see.

Assuming you are the person seeing the moon, you may write down the initial inference of the distance between you and moon as seen as 10 kilometres and dia of the moon  as 300 mm ( 1 foot) or what ever you think you are actually ‘feeling’ as the dimensions.

If the binocular was zooming 100 times, the moon will appear apprx. 300 x 100 or 3 meters in diameter.

Since the zoom should also zoom the horizontal, along with the vertical, the distance from here to moon should look like 100 times more which should be 10 x 100 i.e 1000 kilometers. However this is not our experience.

The binoculars seems to make objective measurements seem bigger and distance between objects or non objective measurements seem smaller. So distances in space behave directly in the vertical axis and inversely to depths or horizontal axis at right angles to another horizontal axis. This is very funny science..

This can only happen in a dream.

If the distances actually existed, the appearance of the moon would be bigger and the distance of the moon from the person would be longer ( which would again make the size of the moon look smaller due to making the distance to the moon longer ).

So the distances in space that we assume, are only dream distances and don’t actually exist.

Moral of the story: Take care of distances when you drive. The front vehicle is not actually as far as you think it is because only distances are appearances to the mind and do not actually exist.

Taking it further, it appears that space doesn’t actually exist because it doesn’t behave like an objective appearance, meaning to say space only exists as an appearance in the mind.

Also since the whole of the galaxies are floating in space and space only exists in the mind, then all galaxies exist only in the mind.

Space is an absence of objects. By itself, it has no perceiving properties, but we still perceive it. Even with eyes closed, we perceive space. Even in dreams we perceive space and also objects, as if made out of spacial material. So space is a magical appearance that cannot be grasped. We keep quite about its existence as nonexistence.
